COVID-19: the problem is not the problem [with the PhD]
All in all…attitude is what makes these things great. With that, I’ll leave you with the words of Captain Jack:

Whilst in some ways I feel I have adjusted a little too well to lockdown life, other aspects are very difficult to get used to.
This has been the first week back in the office after the Christmas break….well sort of! With our lab moving across London, things haven’t exactly been ordinary.
It’s difficult to separate out that emotional “ouch” reaction and look at the feedback as constructive criticism so the work can be improved. I think you have to give it a bit of time and then rationalise.
So, as I go back to writing this paper that shall be drafted today, I go back with a smile on my face. Hopefully, the positivity will help my productivity!
It’s been a jam-packed week, with lots of planning and working. I am feeling good about where I’m heading, I’m just hoping I can keep up the motivation and productivity! There’s a lot of potential to achieve before I go on holiday in August and have something more substantial to present in October. I’d like to be able to go away without needing to worry about not working for a few weeks and feeling like I’m behind.
Nothing much exciting, but I guess those are the times you know you’re ticking over and doing well? No news is good news and all that. I’m rather enjoying this content feeling, I hope it lasts!
This past week since I last wrote has flown by. I’ve just been so busy that I haven’t really had time to stop and look back at what I’ve managed to do. I was just running on my stress and when I got home last night, I felt like I was missing something. When I realise that was my stressed, I totally embraced it.
TLDR: it’s been a busy couple of weeks, but I need to stop being so pessimistic because I am making progress as evidenced from what I’ve written.
This week has been a lot of editing and some procrastinating and some work. Not bad to fit all that in really!
